Kedarnath best place to visit in India
We travel to India to experience history and traditions. But this country provides us with new impressions every time. Even though we know its essence, its culture, its stories and heritage, the country keeps surprising us with its remarkable discoveries. So how can we resist the urge of finding new memories to keep and cherish? If you want to get away from the big metropolises, this is the place. Nature and country's charm are all over. Kedarnath is the finest example. Travel starts on a tourist bus from Delhi. We were the lucky few to enjoy the ride in the gorge-side. A private coach leads us to the Ganga in the ride which turns out to be one of the most memorable experiences of our trip. The narrow path from the bus to the river Ganga, with old-fashioned and charming white houses, reveals the heart of the place. We reached Kedarnath and after settling down in our beautiful room, we set out to explore the town. Kedarnath is a hill station and the heart of Lord Shiva. If you are visiting India, do not miss out this experience. A lot of our readers travel to Kedarnath in the month of October for the goddess' beautiful dream and giving her blessings. It's because of this belief that Kedarnath holds so much charm. The place also offers stunning views of the Himalayan ranges. To all pilgrims, it is a special place to visit as one must observe Maha Shivratri during the rainy season of October. Some Hindus also visit the place to worship Bhagwati, one of the most popular gods. We explored the temple and the rich spiritual practices of the faith. We enjoyed the sunset at the bund. The sun had set and we took a stroll to see the town and the river, in the most serene and quiet way. Our next stop was Haridwar. Haridwar is situated on the banks of the holy Ganges. It is known as the birth place of Lord Vishnu. The magnificent Ganga Sahib – the temple of Ganga – is believed to have been built by Maharaja Ranjit Singh after he captured the region. From the Bund to the Tirth, Haridwar is a lovely place to visit. People of Haridwar use Ganga as a drinking water source. The river also provides all the facilities needed for a family. On our last day, we decided to visit Ram Chatti which was an important spot for all Indian and Hindu pilgrimage. The place is said to have been built by Pandavas after the Mahabharat war. Ram Chatti can be reached by walking half an hour uphill from the Ram Chatti Bagh on the banks of the Ganga. It is a place of religious pilgrimage. Many devotees come to visit the Baithak where Sri Ram is believed to have chatted with Lord Ram for a while. The Baithak is under a huge tree and is blessed with special powers. Kedarnath, Haridwar and Ram Chatti are wonderful places to be in India. In the next part of this series, we'll explore the most beautiful places in India.
